- PerfectBee is looking for a content contributor and customer service representative. The position is remote/work-from-home and part time, by design.
About The Role
Content Creation (Primary Responsibility)
PerfectBee has been helping beekeepers, new and experienced, for the last 10 years. We are looking to expand our team to help us significantly increase our beekeeping content. This position has a broad range of responsibilities, with a particular focus on creating and publishing beekeeping articles, blog posts and more. Content will include:
- Regular beekeeping blog posts, covering a wide range of beekeeping topics and published across our social media channels
- Publications to the PerfectBee Substack
- Ongoing additions to our Beekeeping Q&A Series
- New lessons for our Academy Beekeeping Syllabus
- Working with beekeepers to create their Beekeeping Story
- Though not a requirement, preference will be given to candidates who have a potential interest in creating beekeeping videos
- The successful candidate will preferably have an interest in the science and nature of bees, as well as a staying up to date on bee research.
Customer Service (Secondary Responsibility)
This role will also involve a Customer Support element, with the following responsibilities.
- Communicate with customers proactively and effectively, to answer questions and resolve issues, via both email and phone
- Work with vendors and distributors to ensure orders are processed efficiently and on time
- Communicate with Colony members for membership-related questions, sending course certificates and more
- Work proactively and seamlessly with other Customer Support Representatives, to ensure we serve our customers in a reliable, friendly and proactive manner
- Engage proactively in numerous ongoing internal projects, separate to the direct customer service role
Initially, there will be a small number of hours per week (5-10) but this likely will grow over time.
Skills
Required
- Currently active as a beekeeper
- A proven ability and passion for creating and publishing content*
- A keen, passionate and proven focus on excellent customer service.)
- Experience dealing with customers in an online setting, through email and over the phone
- Solid organizational and communication skills, with a strong attention to detail
Note* : We are looking for a beekeeper who is capable and interested in creating great content for our audience. It is a strong preference that the candidate has experience creating beekeeping content. However, we will also consider candidates who may not yet have created beekeeping content, but can demonstrate experience in creating well-written content in other areas.
Preferred
- Strong familiarity and comfort with regular computer tasks such as editing documents, updating spreadsheets, arranging meetings and so on.
- Experience and comfort working with modern online apps and services.
- Experience and a working knowledge of WordPress and/or WooCommerce are strong advantages.
Location and Availability
- Candidates must be based in the contiguous US*
- English-speaking, with experience offering customer service in a professional setting
- Working from the east coast is preferred, but not absolutely required. However, a willingness and ability to check emails and respond to address issues, as necessary, from around 9am ET during the week is important.

- A computer capable of supporting participation in online video meetings
