The box is assembled and made from commercial 3/4″ pine. Along with the high-quality wood frames, plastic foundation is offered with a choice of beeswax layer.
Why Extra Wax?
Optional heavy wax is available. Bees accept plastic foundation more readily with this extra coating of wax. If you prefer this, the “heavy wax” option saves you the time and effort of covering your foundation with your own wax.
The kit includes:
- Assembled commercial 3/4″ pine hive body
- Wood frames, with a choice of foundation
