Crimp Wire Foundation (With Hooks)

The use of crimped wire foundation is very popular approach with beekeepers looking to retain a more natural approach, by avoiding the use of plastic foundation.

Crimped wires are embedded vertically through the foundation to add strength and support to the beeswax. The wire hooks on the top edge of the foundation help retain the foundation in place. behind the wedge in the frame. We recommend using Wooden frames with wedged top bars for this foundation.

For frames that will be run through an extractor, it is important to provide an additional support, with support pins. For frames in the brood chamber and therefore not to be used in an extractor, less support is needed.

Shipping Note: Due to the relative fragility of this beeswax foundation, this item ships ‘at your own risk’ from our facility in New York during the winter months, due to being very brittle at low temperatures.

I haven't had bees for 30 years and didn't know they had that plastic comb, so wonder bee's are disappearing. Plastic killing fish and a lot more. Convenient, or just more $. Thank you.

wax vs plastic

This is what the bees want , they hate the plastic stuff..
